According to the preliminary findings of an exit survey performed by Edison Research and cited by CNN, over two-thirds of voters supporting candidates seeking seats in the United States House of Representatives do not want Joe Biden to compete for re-election in 2024.
A majority of Democratic voters (less than 6 out of 10) do not believe that Joe Biden should run for reelection. It has been reported that around 9 out of 10 Republican primary voters and also more than 7 out of 10 independent voters don’t want him to run for office again.
In July, Biden’s approval rating dropped to 36%, marking a new low for him since he became the president. On Monday, the day before the midterms, a survey conducted by Reuters and Ipsos put him at 39% support.
In the presidential election of 2020, former Vice President Joe Biden defeated the sitting president, Donald Trump. The rising inflation rate and the skyrocketing cost of gasoline, among other difficulties, have both had a negative impact on performance ratings for Biden. In the midst of Ukraine’s war with Russia, some Republicans have blasted Biden for issuing “blank checks” for the country, while others have urged him to concentrate on the economy as well as other domestic issues.
