Public health restrictions (PHOs) in Saskatchewan that restrict the number of individuals who may attend outdoor rallies have been deemed “justifiable” by the Court of King’s Bench, despite the fact that they breached the province’s charter’s provisions guaranteeing the right to free speech.
Advocates for constitutional rights at the Justice Institute for Freedoms And rights (JCCF) expressed “disappointment” with the decision.
In a statement released on September 20th, JCCF attorney Marty Moore stated, “We are studying the judgment of the Court and we will be seeking directions from our clients about an appeal to a higher Court.“
