A recent statement made by Chelsea Clinton suggests that young people should be encouraged to see explicit pornographic content so that they may better understand their own sexuality and gender identity.

The daughter of former President Bill Clinton has cautioned that it is “harmful” to prohibit sexually explicit novels in educational settings. In the past, she has argued that a person with a beard and a penis “can absolutely be a woman.”

“The American Library Association logged 1,269 challenges to more than 2,500 books in 2022 in its annual book censorship report. This is the biggest number of attempted book bans since the association began recording such activities in 2001. In 2022, the challenges were leveled against more than 2,500 books. It was a jump of 75% from the previous record, which was held in 2021. According to NBC.

According to the publication, “of the 13 books that made it onto the ALA’s list of “Most Challenged Books” last year, seven titles — including three of the top four — were challenged for having LGBTQ content,” which was identified by the organization.
