Ukraine reaches out to volunteer hackers in an unparalleled worldwide initiative. The type of desecrating cyberattacks believed most likely to follow a massive Russian armed assault have never happened in the past history.

Twitter is NOW blocking RT and Sputnik from ranking in searches. What’s the craic? Joel Schectman and Christopher Bing report—“Ukraine calls on the hacker underground to defend against Russia”:

“Late in the game”
The government of Ukraine is asking for volunteers from the country’s hacker underground … according to two people involved in the project. … Requests for volunteers began to appear on hacker forums on Thursday morning.

It’s unclear why Russia has not landed a more effective cyber strike as of yet.

One hacker group that turned up last year, the Belarus Cyber Partisans, claimed on Monday to have disturbed a few railroad services using hacking as the ultimate tool of attack.
