Renowned Hollywood actress Tilda Swinton, famous for her roles in blockbuster movies such as The Avengers: Endgame and Doctor Strange, has announced that she will not be wearing a mask while filming her upcoming project in Ireland. The actress made this disclosure during her keynote speech at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, where she discussed various challenges faced by the film industry and society in recent times.
According to Swinton, she won’t wear a mask in Ireland as she is healthy and possesses antibodies from being infected with Covid. She also expressed her faith in her health status and hence her decision not to wear a mask during filming.
During the interview, the Avengers: Endgame actress questioned if people wore masks in Texas during the pandemic, emphasizing that people across the world do things differently. She also commented that the pandemic taught people to appreciate live music, theater, and socialization. People missed friends, family, cinema, live music, and a bit of travel during the pandemic.
Swinton’s decision not to wear a mask comes amid a time when pandemic restrictions have been lifted, and people are questioning the Covid mandates that have been implemented worldwide. Screen Actors Guild president Fran Drescher also recently celebrated the end of the Covid emergency and called for equal opportunity work for all actors.
Swinton was in Austin to promote her latest film, Problemista, which has already garnered significant attention from film enthusiasts.
