The United States government, led by President Biden, has announced plans to provide Israel with a significant military aid package, totaling $18 billion worth of cutting-edge fighter jets. This support is intended to bolster Israel’s defense capabilities and solidify the country’s position as a key strategic ally in the region. The funding for these advanced aircraft will come from American taxpayers, demonstrating the commitment of the U.S. government to Israel’s security and well-being.

The Biden administration is set to supply Israel with 50 American-made F-15 fighter jets that cost over $18 billion in taxpayer funds.

The transfer is expected to be approved despite Israel’s past actions, which have been widely criticized and have raised concerns about human rights violations, including the killing of aid workers, attacks on medical facilities, and attempts to escalate tensions with Iran that could lead to a global conflict.

Informationliberation.com reports:

According to CNN, the Biden administration is poised to approve the sale of $18 billion worth of F-15 fighter jets to Israel, marking a significant step in strengthening the country’s military capabilities.

The Biden administration is close to approving the sale of as many as 50 American-made F-15 fighter jets to Israel, in a deal expected to be worth more than $18 billion, according to three people familiar with the matter.

The impending deal, pegged as the largest US military export to Israel since the latter’s conflict with Hamas began on October 7, coincides with an anticipated notification to Congress of a substantial sale of high-precision weaponry to Israel, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Politico is reporting that the large new sale includes “30 AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles, and a number of Joint Direct Attack Munition kits, which turn dumb bombs into precision-guided weapons.”

CNN keeps moving forward.

The recent sales of advanced US weaponry to Israel highlight the ongoing military support from the US to Israel, despite criticism from the Biden administration regarding Israel’s actions in Gaza, which have resulted in the deaths of over 32,000 Palestinians, according to the Gaza ministry of health, since October.

The sale is likely to be hotly debated in Congress, particularly by members of the president’s own party. US weapons sales to Israel have come under intense scrutiny in recent months and Democratic lawmakers have called for restricting military aid to Israeli until it allows more humanitarian aid into Gaza and does more to protect civilians there.

Following Hamas’s assault on Israel in October, which resulted in the deaths of over 1,200 Israelis, the United States has made numerous foreign military transactions with Israel, totaling over 100 sales. The majority of these transactions fell under the specific monetary threshold that mandates notification to Congress, according to an official who spoke to CNN.

But an $18 billion F-15 sale is large enough that it requires congressional notification, and the administration informally notified the House Foreign Affairs and Senate Foreign Relations committees of the F-15 sale in late January, according to two of the people familiar with the matter.

The sale has received approval from Sen. James Risch, the leading Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, as confirmed by a source. Additionally, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul has given the green light for the transaction to move forward to the official notification phase, as per a congressional aide speaking to CNN.

They’re calling it a “sale” but the US has given Israel over $260 billion directly in aid and Israel is currently holding $46 billion in US treasuries (Israel lends us back our own aid money and charges us interest on it).

The money Israel is going to spend on this is going to come from their aid reserves or else from the tens of billions of dollars in additional aid the US has pledged to give Israel over the next decade, so this is quite simply just another massive weapons transfer.

Biden has expressed disagreement with Israel’s actions in Gaza, but he has also approved the delivery of new weapons and military supplies to Israel, which has been criticized for its treatment of Palestinian civilians and humanitarian workers in the region.
