Iran’s Dying Regime Cracks Down on University Students

Iran’s Dying Regime crackdown began after 15 days of widespread demonstrations in response to the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini for not wearing a headscarf properly.

The rallies were sparked by the fact that Mahsa Amini was punished for not wearing her headscarf appropriately. According to Iran Human Rights, there have been 133 people killed, and hundreds more have been detained.

In accordance with the Center for Human Rights in Iran, on Sunday evening, October 2nd, 2022, Iranian security personnel ruthlessly suppressed peaceful demonstrations by several hundred students at the highly regarded Sharif University of Technology inside Tehran by beating, shooting with pellets, releasing tear gas, and arresting large numbers of students.

Iranian troops are preparing for a confrontation with the demonstrators.

Students were taken into custody and led away in vans after the university grounds were cleared.
