A Travesty of Justice – FBI’s Raid of Mar-a-Lago

During his first speaking engagement since the investigation on August 8th, Donald Trump called the FBI’s visit to his house in Florida a “travesty of justice.” This came as Trump made his first media speech since the search.

Trump called the raid an “egregious abuse of the law” when speaking to his followers at a campaign event in Pennsylvania on Saturday. He predicted that it would result in “a response the magnitude never before.” He also responded to his replacement, Joe Biden, who had previously described President Trump and the supporters of his “Make America Great Again” Biden labeled the (MAGA) movement as “extremists” who pose a threat to “the very foundation of our republic” in a speech earlier this week. In addition, Biden presented his powerful address in the state of Pennsylvania.

Trump criticized the speech given by  Biden, calling it the “most vile, angry, and dividing speech possibly made by an American president.”

“He is a hostile player toward the state. The previous leader of the country referred to Sleepy Joe as “the enemy of the state.”

Trump continued by saying, “Republicans inside the MAGA movement aren’t the ones trying to destroy our democracy.” Trump repeatedly claimed that the presidential race in 2020, which he lost, was sabotaged, and his party has made claims of fraudulent voting a central plank of their framework. “Those in the MAGA movement are not the people attempting to destroy our democracy,” continued Trump.

During the raid, the Department of Justice claimed that highly sensitive government documents, including those that were designated Top Secret, were found in Trump’s personal office.

Referred to as a travesty of Justice – the FBI’s Raid of Mar-a-Lago

A comprehensive list of the items that were confiscated revealed that Donald Trump had been in possession of over 11,000 non-classified government records, which he insists are his, according to the law, belong to the National Archives.

There were 18 documents that were categorized as Top Secret, 53 tagged as Secret, and another 31 marked as Confidential.

Trump’s private office was searched, and among those files, 7 Top Secret documents, 17 Secret files, and 3 Confidential files were found, according to court files.

The agents also discovered several dozen empty files marked Classified inside this office, which raised the possibility that critical data may have been misplaced, destroyed, or relocated.

Trump has filed a lawsuit to have the files turned over to an impartial party, which is a step that might slow down the investigation being conducted by the government. Trump is keeping his followers and columnists guessing about whether or not he intends to run for office again in 2024.
