After receiving Musk’s “very tough” ultimatum, Twitter employees have fled the company.

After Elon Musk’s demand for “long hours at high intensity,” several workers at the social media behemoth have announced their resignation.

Employees are leaving Twitter in droves after CEO Elon Musk issued a strict order for all staff to “very hardcore” their job or be fired.

After Musk had his workers commit to working “long hours at high intensity” in an email, several of them rushed to Twitter on Thursday to declare they were quitting.

From now on, “only extraordinary performance will represent a passing grade,” Musk said in an internal document received by numerous media sources, and “we will have to be incredibly tough” to construct a groundbreaking Twitter 2.0 and prosper in a more competitive market.

Former employee Andrea Horst tweeted, “I may be #special, but gosh darn it, I’m simply not #hardcore.”

When Horst and other workers decided to leave, they often shared the news on social media using the hashtag #lovewhereyouworked.

The number of workers that resigned in response to Musk’s ultimatum is unknown, but they join a corporation that has lost over 5,000 employees since Musk took over as CEO.

As news of the departures spread, a number of topics using “RIPTwitter” or the names of competing for social media platforms like Mastodon climbed to the top of the United States’ hot topics list on Twitter.

Musk has drawn criticism for the significant changes he has made at Twitter after purchasing the firm for $44bn at the end of last month. Musk also oversees four other companies, including Tesla and SpaceX.

Musk’s decision to abandon Twitter’s verification procedures has unleashed a torrent of impostor identities, including false profiles of former U.S. President Donald Trump & NBA star LeBron James, prompting Twitter to halt a new $7.99 membership service last week.

Advertising from big companies including GM, Audi, General Mills, and United Airlines has been put on hold as they wait for Facebook to clarify its moderation and disinformation policies in light of the recent scandal.
