According to a stunning study released by the Senate, the Covid epidemic was almost certainly caused by a laboratory accident.

Policymakers have said that there is a “strong” indication of an accident occurring at a research facility, but they have stated that there is “still lacking” proof of a natural spillover.

As a result of China’s refusal to help with the investigation or open the lab issue, the interim assessment came to the conclusion that China “no longer merits the benefit of the doubt.”

Over the course of the previous 15 months, Republicans serving on the House Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions have read hundreds of articles on the history of Covid and conducted interviews with “several dozen” subject matter experts.

In the paper, the authors come to the following conclusion: “Based on the examination of the available evidence, it is plausible to assume that the COVID-19 outbreak was, more probably than not, the outcome of a research-related occurrence.”

In addition, they state that “almost 3 years after the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, essential evidence that would indicate that the development of SARS-CoV-2 and the subsequent COVID-19 pandemic was driven by a spontaneous zoonotic spillover remains absent.”

The study acknowledges that there is still vital information that is lacking concerning how the pandemic genuinely came to be and that there is no direct proof for either a natural or synthetic genesis of the epidemic.

However, according to the senate committee, “the lack of openness and participation” on the part of China “prevents drawing a more conclusive judgment.”

It is no longer proper to give the idea of a naturally zoonotic origin the benefit of doubt or the assumption that it is accurate.

In the beginning, those who believed in the lab leak idea were labeled as conspiracy theorists and xenophobes. One of these people was even the former President of the United States, Donald Trump.
