Russian Navy took delivery of three New Warships

On Thursday, the Russian Navy took delivery of three new warships, one of which was a brand-new, state-of-the-art nuclear-powered submarine from the Borei class. On the same day, a second ship of the exact same class, which itself is meant to carry Bulava ballistic missiles, is floated for the very first time.

The Russian military held three separate ceremonies at the same time to mark the official commencement of the new boats’ active duty. During these ceremonies, navy flags were raised aboard the new warships.

The name “Generalissimus Suvorov” belonged to a Borei-class submarine, which was the largest and also most deadly of the three. The naval aspect of Russia’s contemporary nuclear deterrent is built on boats of this type, which acts as the foundation of the component. She is the 6th ship of her class and was officially welcomed into service at the port of Severodvinsk in northern Russia; nevertheless, she is scheduled to join the Naval Fleet in the near future.

The Russian Federation is now working on the construction of four further submarines of the Borei class. President Putin, who oversaw the event from a faraway location, stated that these submarines “will assure Russia’s security for years to come.”

Another ship, the ‘Imperator Aleksandr III,’ which is the sister ship of the ‘Generalissimus Suvorov,’ was floated in a different ceremony that took place simultaneously at the same location. According to reports from the Defense Ministry, it will be the eighth boat in its class and will start undergoing sea testing in June of next year before being put into military duty.

The advanced missile corvette of the Buyan M-class designated as the ‘Grom,’ and the Alexandrit-class minesweeper, designated as the ‘Anatoly Shlemov,’ were the other two ships that went into duty on Thursday. As they joined Russia’s Baltic and Pacific fleets, respectively, their colors were hoisted at the harbors of Baltiysk and Vladivostok, and the festivities that took place in those ports were synchronized with those that took place in Severodvinsk.

According to the president, the achievement of this new level of capability for the Russian Navy was a major step forward. He thanked the people who were responsible for designing and building the warships and wished the personnel of the ships honorable service and success in their endeavors.
