During an event at the City University of New York, Nancy Pelosi, former House Speaker, and a Democrat was left shaken after a group of anti-war protestors began chanting “You belong in hell” to her face.

The Protest

Several protestors in the crowd started shouting during Pelosi’s discussion, expressing their disappointment with her for having a “very bad obsession with getting us into war” and chanted, “You know, Pelosi, that’s a very good place for you in the depths of hell.”

Pelosi was met with groans and boos from the audience, but the protestors continued their chant and asked why she never admitted there were no weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) in Iraq, and accused her of lying to get the US into war in Iraq, and Afghanistan.

The protestors also asked Pelosi why the US won’t tell the truth about sabotaging the Nord Stream pipeline, and referred to her as a war criminal. One by one, the group of activists voiced their frustration at Pelosi before security escorted them out of the room.

The aftermath

The final protestor to be escorted out of the event claimed to be speaking “on behalf of everybody who loves peace and not war with Russia or China.” Throughout the interruptions, elderly white liberals attending the event appeared visibly disgusted with the protestors pushing back against the military-industrial-complex war machine.

The Impact

This incident shows how public figures in the political arena are open to protests and confrontations, even from those who share the same political ideology. However, it is essential to remain peaceful while expressing one’s concerns.

If we continue to hold our leaders accountable for their actions and peacefully express our disapproval, we can create a more transparent and responsible government that represents the interests of the people.
