Move over, Oval Office, there’s a new top dog in town!

Reports have emerged of an 11th biting incident involving Commander, President Biden’s dog, with this latest altercation occurring at the White House. The 2-year-old German Shepherd was involved in the incident on a Monday evening, and it was officially confirmed by United States Secret Service (USSS) Chief of Communications, Anthony Guglielmi, on Tuesday.

Guglielmi revealed to CNN, “Yesterday, around 8 p.m., a Secret Service Uniformed Division police officer came into contact with a pet from the First Family and suffered a bite. Medical personnel on the premises provided treatment to the officer.”

Breitbart reported that the agent’s condition improved after speaking with Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle. While Secret Service agents are not responsible for handling the First Family’s pets, they frequently interact with them. Former USSS agent Jonathan Wackrow expressed concern, characterizing this situation as a workplace safety issue rather than solely a Secret Service matter.

Wackrow stated on CNN, “This isn’t just a Secret Service matter; it’s a workplace safety concern. This location is not only the residence of the President of the United States but also the workplace for hundreds, if not thousands, of people. Bringing a hazard into the workplace is problematic, and with multiple incidents, it becomes a serious issue.”

He concluded, “I’m certain that the Bidens love their dog. I’m sure it’s considered a family member, as all dogs are. However, it’s essential to recognize that this poses a significant hazard to those who provide support to the office of the President.”

In 2021, reports emerged regarding Major, the President’s previous German Shepherd, being involved in two severe biting incidents. A year later, several Secret Service agents alleged that the White House downplayed the incidents to mitigate their impact.

Documents released under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by Judicial Watch revealed that the Secret Service attempted to minimize the events and even reprimanded an agent for disclosing the attack, fearing it would upset the Biden family. In March 2021, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki acknowledged that one of the dog attacks occurred after Major was “surprised by an unfamiliar person.”

However, according to the unsealed documents, the dog bit agents on eight consecutive days, resulting in “severe” injuries rather than minor ones.

One message from a Secret Service employee referenced the bite, describing the injury as “severe.” The heavily redacted incident report mentioned that the bite took place at 7:00 a.m. in the White House residential area on the second floor near First Lady Jill Biden’s office. The report detailed that Major barked loudly and charged at the agent without provocation.

David Cho, President Biden’s then-chief protective agent, sent an email later that day, stating, “Major bit one of the agents this morning. The agent is okay but has bruising and a puncture wound.”

The agent was reportedly bitten by Major a second time. Photos of the injuries were redacted in the report, except for one showing the agent’s torn wool overcoat.

Major was subsequently sent to live with friends in Delaware, and President Biden adopted Commander. Breitbart News reported that the Commander had been involved in as many as ten biting incidents between October 2022 and January 2023.
