Hunter Biden, son of U.S. President Joe Biden, has filed a lawsuit against the owner of a computer repair shop in Delaware.
The suit alleges that the shop owner, who previously claimed to have a laptop belonging to Hunter Biden, “unlawfully accessed, copied, and disseminated” sensitive and confidential information from the laptop.
The lawsuit alleges that the shop owner violated Hunter Biden’s privacy rights and also engaged in civil conspiracy and defamation by spreading false information about the laptop and its contents. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and an injunction preventing the shop owner from further disclosing any information from the laptop.
The laptop in question was reportedly dropped off at the repair shop in April 2019 and was never picked up.
The shop owner claims to have made a copy of the hard drive and turned it over to the FBI, while also sharing information with Rudy Giuliani, a former lawyer for former President Donald Trump. The laptop became a subject of controversy during the 2020 presidential campaign, with some alleging that it contained evidence of wrongdoing by Hunter Biden and his father. However, the laptop’s authenticity and the veracity of its contents have been disputed.
