According to recently uncovered court documents from the lawsuit between Dominion Voting Systems and Fox News, Dominion’s own employees had serious concerns about the security of their machines. Despite this knowledge, top executives at Dominion allowed these machines to be used during the 2020 elections.

The revelation was made during the legal dispute between Dominion and Fox News, where it was discovered that Dominion employees knew that the security of their own systems was virtually nonexistent.

Some of the most critical examples of these security concerns include:

Mark Beckstrand, a Dominion Sales Manager, confirmed that other parties had “gotten ahold of [Dominion’s] equipment illicitly” in the past, identifying specific instances in Georgia and North Carolina. He testified that a Dominion machine was also “hacked” in Michigan.

Dominion’s Director of Product Strategy and Security, Eric Coomer, admitted in private just weeks before the 2020 presidential election that “our sh*t is just riddled with bugs.” In 2019, Coomer even noted that “our products suck,” and that “almost all” of Dominion’s technological failings were due to their “complete f— up in the installation.” In another instance, he identified a “critical bug leading to INCORRECT results.”

These messages, from as recent as 2019, provide enough justification for a news network to cover the potential exploitation of voting machines, and could warrant a wider investigation of Dominion, State Street Capital, and their products and services.

While the Associated Press included some details in their reporting, most news networks have failed to mention these significant revelations.

This wanton disregard for a free press and America’s First Amendment is an issue that needs to be addressed. It is time for these companies to take responsibility and address their weaknesses effectively. Failure to do so puts the sanctity of American democracy at risk.
