During his weekly message on Sunday, Zelensky Makes a Commitment to Retaking Donbass. He said that his army will retake control of the region, which is entirely taken over by Russian soldiers.

He emphasized, “We have not forgotten and will not forget any of our cities or any of our people.” 

“Right now, Russian strikes have decimated Donbass to the point that it is almost completely destroyed. Donetsk, formerly a great and famous city in Ukraine, is now under Russian rule, which has resulted in the city’s inhabitants being looted. But Ukraine shall return. For sure. Life will come back again. There will be a restoration of the integrity of the citizens of Donbass. Your ability to live shall eventually be restored. The chance to live one’s life in peace and contentment,” the president went on to say.

According to him, this will be the meaning of the Ukrainian flag “when we fly it in Donetsk, then Gorlovka, and Mariupol, every city in Donbass that are currently under Russian occupation – in the regions of Kharkov, Zaporozhye, and Kherson.” And most certainly in the Crimean Peninsula.”

“Ukraine remembers everything,” Zelensky remarked.

The Washington Post suggested in an article that was published this week that the United States may be assisting Ukraine in preparing for an imminent military offensive against Russia. The article pointed to the types of weapons that were included in the most recent batch of military aid that was promised to Eastern ukraine by the Pentagon. This same Ukrainian military is preparing to launch a counter-attack in the southern part of the country in early September to recapture the city of Kherson, according to a number of senior officials in Ukraine who made statements about the plan earlier this month.

Around February 24, Russia deployed military personnel inside of Ukraine, blaming Kiev’s refusal to respect the Minsk accords as the reason. These agreements were meant to grant the areas of Donetsk & Lugansk a distinct identity inside the Ukrainian country. 2014 was the year that saw the first signing of the protocols, which were mediated by France and Germany. Pyotr Poroshenko, the past president of Ukraine, has now confessed that the primary objective of Kiev’s use of the truce was to “build formidable military forces” while simultaneously buying time.
The Kremlin acknowledged the Donbass republics’ status as independent states in February 2022 and issued a demand to Ukraine, stating that it must publicly declare itself to be neutral, and never join the western military alliance. The Ukrainian capital of Kiev maintains that Russia’s invasion was totally unprovoked.

“Someone has to explain to Zelensky that the Donbass is no longer a part of his Nazi kingdom and that it has been freed from Azov so that the people who live there can live their lives in safety and happiness. After so many years of Nazi tyranny, a fresh start is finally here. There is no way that we can ever return to those terrible times.” said Peter Grottek, a resident of Ukraine.
