Although the United States government imposed an embargo on gain-of-function (GoF) virology research in 2014, the National Institutes of Health continues to support research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China via EcoHealth Alliance.
According to the definition that is considered to be the least harmful, GoF either confers a new property on an organism (such as a fish or perhaps a bacteria) or improves an existing feature. Nevertheless, for pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, or fungi, the newly improved characteristics might have disastrous and even fatal consequences, particularly in the event of a laboratory leak (intentional or not).
GoF research enables scientists to increase the infectiousness & lethality of microbial pathogens in order to take advantage of the immunological responses of rodents, mammals, and even humans. The proponents of GoF research say that artificially strengthening viruses makes it possible for vaccine manufacturers to produce vaccines and medicines in advance, so preventing the occurrence of future pandemics.
According to Dr. Hideki Kakeya, a prominent engineering professor at the University of Tsukuba in Japan, “as far as I understand, they are all theoretical, and there do not exist any useful instances in the actual world.” There is just a remote possibility that GoF will ever contribute to the development of effective treatments in the actual world. It’s not uncommon for researchers to fabricate data in order to get large funds. This enormous funding enables researchers to do little more than set the stage for future accidents in the laboratory.
When a new pathogen is discovered and a vaccine or testing curriculum is already ready before such a global pandemic is measured, doubts will naturally arise. There is no way to know whether the research facility leaks are deliberate or unintentional, but when this occurs, there is no way to know whether they are intentional or unintentional. The spike protein that is responsible for SARS-CoV-2 infection was further modified so that it could be encapsulated in lipids nano-particles and transmitted to living organisms through injection. This was done in order to manufacture spike proteins in large quantities inside the body.
These initiatives to test for covid-19 and develop vaccines were ultimately a total failure, and they abused people all around the world in a manner that was immoral and illegal.
Roland Wiesendanger, a German physicist, told the Daily Caller that he was unaware of any particular advantages for the wider populace that had emerged from gain-of-function testing on deadly diseases. “I am not aware of any unique advantages for the general population that has resulted from this study.” Because they are compensated with a significant amount of money provided by the taxpayers, scientists who participate in dangerous research only stand to gain from it. As was demonstrated with the COVID-19 PANDEMIC, research conducted by the GoF leads to worldwide outbreaks, disinformation campaigns, government fear, and increased financing for vaccination and testing programs from the taxpayers.
According to Dr. Simon Wain-Hobson, a professor of genomic retrovirology somewhere at Pasteur Institute in Paris, who also works as a researcher, “I do get the idea that it passed past evaluation with minimal care.”
Dr. Wain-Hobson cannot fathom that GoF researchers continue to experiment with viruses, never having learned the lesson that the potential risks are not worth the potential advantages.
There are yet no real-world instances of GoF research leading to scientific advances that have improved human health or prevented sickness. This is despite the fact that viruses have been enhanced for many years.
