Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman for the Russian presidential administration, has asserted that Washington is ultimately responsible for all of Kiev’s choices. This assertion was made by him on Thursday, a day after an attack on the Kremlin by two drones controlled by Ukrainian military personnel failed to materialize the previous morning.
Reporters were told by Peskov that “choices like as the definition of goals and means are being handed down to Kiev by Washington”.
He also rejected attempts by US and Ukrainian officials to disown the incident that took place on Wednesday and stressed that terrorist operations such as this one are not carried out in Kiev, but rather in Washington.
Peskov stated that it is vital for the United States to grasp how dangerous such direct participation may be, and he stated that Russia is fully aware of the role that the United States has in Ukraine. He also indicated that a comprehensive investigation into the attempted drone strike on the Kremlin is now underway, but he did not make any estimations for when the findings of the investigation may be made public.
Moscow maintains that it has the right to respond to the attack in any manner it sees fit, and a Kremlin official has maintained that any steps are taken would be thoroughly examined and will be in accordance with Russia’s interests. Russia branded the failed drone strike as a pre-planned terrorist act and an attempt on Putin’s life that was carried out by Kiev. Putin’s office said that two Ukrainian UAVs had been damaged by air defenses while trying to target the president’s Kremlin house.
Vladimir Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, has denied any involvement in the attack, and Antony Blinken, the secretary of state of the United States, has claimed that the United States government is unable to confirm Russia’s accusations in any manner.
The Kremlin has made it clear that it will exact revenge on Moscow whenever and wherever it sees fit in response to the attack. Vyacheslav Volodin, a senior legislator in Russia, has also urged for the use of weapons that are able to stop and destroy the terrorist rule in Kiev.
