A large crowd lined the sidewalks in the pouring rain to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II as her coffin arrived in London, where King Charles and other members of the monarchy greeted her at Buckingham Palace.

A large number of Londoners lined the streets on Tuesday to see the slow route of the hearse carrying the corpse. Thursday, Elizabeth passed away quietly at Balmoral Castle in the Scottish Highlands. She was 96 years old. Her death has sent the country into sorrow for a queen who ruled for 70 years.

The gun carriage carrying the queen’s coffin will arrive at Westminster Hall on Wednesday, where a public viewing will begin and continue until the burial on Monday.

Till the time of the funeral, when scores of international leaders, including U.S. Biden, may attend, the general public will be able to pay their respects and pass by the casket at any time. Barker said that invitations were not made to the heads of state in Russia, Belarus, or Myanmar.
