A religious organization in California has been warned by a court in the United States that the attack on freedom has not yet come to an end, despite the fact that President Biden has terminated the formal state of emergency on COVID in the United States.

Because it disobeyed the Covid limits that were imposed between August 2020 through January 2021, a judge from the Santa Clara County Supreme Court named Evette Pennypacker issued an order that Calvary Chapel San Jose pay a fine of $1.2 million.

According to the church, the regulations infringed on their ability to practice their religion freely.

According to The Daily Wire, Pennypacker wrote that “it should appear obvious to all — regardless of religious affiliation — that the use of a face mask while worshiping one’s god or communing with other members is a simple, unobtrusive, giving manner to protect others while still exercising you’re right to religious freedom”

“Unfortunately, the Defendants declined on several occasions to serve as a model, much less enforce this gesture. Instead, they frequently flouted the public’s Health Orders by refusing to comply with them and encouraging others to do the same “Who cared what the cost, including death.”

According to the counsel for the church, Mariah Gondeiro, the church intends to appeal the decision. “We look forward to creating more precedents on appeals that will have far-reaching implications for the future,” she added. “We are very excited about this opportunity.”
